Shania Twain, 60, reveals her BIZARRE morning ritual

Posted by max - July 20, 2026

Shania Twain is getting candid about her morning routine – and it’s downright bizarre.

The country superstar, 60, revealed that after waking up, she goes horseback riding in her pajamas.

An avid equine enthusiast, she also said she occasionally takes her beloved horses on tour with her, though she admitted that can take quite a bit of planning on her part.

‘I just love being with them,’ she told CBS News in an interview published on Sunday.

‘I ride in my pajamas in the mornings,’ she continued. ‘It’s just a great escape.’

Last month, she joined Harry Styles for 12 nights at Wembley Stadium, and she showed off her toned figure and youthful looks in revealing outfits while opening for the pop star’s residency in London.

During the same interview, the Canadian singer-songwriter also discussed preparing to celebrate her 61st birthday next month.

She currently lives in Switzerland with her husband Frédéric Thiébaud, whom she married in 2011.

‘I started life out a little bit on the tough side,’ she said. ‘In my 60s now, I feel like I’ve really gotten it, or I’m just now getting all of that right.’

She added: ‘You know what it is? It’s called time. I’d love to have ben able to get it right in my 50s, but I just – that wasn’t enough time.

‘I needed to be in my 60s to start getting it right, you know? And that’s fine,’ Twain continued.

‘I plan to live to be 200 anyway! … I better live to be 200, to get everything in that I want to get in.’

Back in 2024, she revealed her anti-aging nighttime skincare routine is a homemade makeup remover made out of olive oil and sugar scrub.

‘Why do I use olive oil? You know, I’ve just learned that…anything oil-based does break down the makeup and flushes the pores out,’ she said in a video for Harper’s Bazaar in May 2024.

‘So I don’t use makeup remover per se, I really just combine the olive oil and the sugar. And I don’t rub it in hard.’

During the same interview, the Canadian singer-songwriter also reflected on turning 60. ‘I started life out a little bit on the tough side,’ she said. ‘In my 60s now, I feel like I’ve really gotten it, or I’m just now getting all of that right’; pictured in June

She also noted that the ‘positive side to menopause’ is that her skin is no longer ‘flaky’ and prone to ‘breakouts.’

Instead, she said her skin type is ‘combination’ with a ‘classic T-zone oily area.’

She said after removing her makeup, she applies anti-aging serum wherever she is ‘getting fine lines’ and top it off with a night cream, both from Rationale.

In her interview with CBS News, Twain also opened up about her tumultuous childhood and difficult early adulthood life, the subject matter of her upcoming album, Little Miss Twain, dropping on July 24.

‘When I was younger, I was so over-responsible for the household,’ she said. ‘My mother was depressed a lot of the time.’

Her upcoming album, Little Miss Twain, explores her early years. Reflecting on how much she has grown, she credited ‘time.’ ‘I’d love to have ben able to get it right in my 50s, but I just – that wasn’t enough time’; pictured in April 1996

Twain continued: ‘She spent a lot of her days in bed. She lived off coffee and cigarettes that I would bring her in bed just to see if she was still alive. There was a lot of violence in the house. And we didn’t eat well a lot of the times. We weren’t clothed properly a lot of the time.’

Her parents died in a car crash when she was 22 and she had to become the guardian of her younger siblings.

In her new album, she opens up about those difficult times in her life.

‘When I reflect back on those times, I’m reflecting on them from where I am now, which is a very good place. Like, I made it out of there. It’s like, “Whoa, I’m just celebrating all of that.”

‘And what makes me feel so accomplished, is staying connected to where I came from. It’s the contrast that makes it feel so good,’ she said.
