‘World’s H๏τtest director’ sends social media into a frenzy

Posted by max - July 14, 2026

A new Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ sequel was just released, but some horror fans seem to be more focused on the genetically-blessed director than the film itself.

Handsome French filmmaker Sébastien Vaniček, 36, has sent social media into a frenzy while promoting Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Burn over the past two weeks.

Posts gushing over Vaniček’s rugged good looks have racked up millions of impressions on platforms like X and Instagram, with some moviegoers saying that they wish the director was in front of the camera instead of behind it.

‘The director of the new Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ movie is making this press tour very distracting… why is he so H๏τ, lord!’ gushed one fan.

‘Director of the new Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ movie, if you read this I’m free on Thursday night and would like to hang out!’ joked another.

‘He’s like if Travis Kelce was H๏τ,’ wrote a third, while a fourth commented, ‘Holy s**t, he’s H๏τ!’

Another thirsty fan asked, ‘Can we please find pictures of his feet?’

Daily Mail has contacted Vaniček for comment.

Vaniček broke onto the scene with the French horror film Infested (‘Vermines’ in French) in 2023.

The toe-curling creepfest follows a group of residents trapped inside of an apartment building during a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly infestation of Middle Eastern spiders that are able to rapidly reproduce and increase in size.

It was praised by critics and was even nominated for two César Awards, which led to Vaniček being handpicked to direct the next Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ sequel.

According to Warner Bros, Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Burn ‘is the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date’.

A synopsis reads, ‘After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home.

‘As one by one they are transformed into ᴅᴇᴀᴅites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on even in death.’

The film has divided critics and audiences alike due to its extreme violence and brutality.

Rotten Tomatoes called it ‘the nastiest entry in the franchise yet’.

‘Vaniček’s film fires on all cylinders, delivering a frequently jaw-dropping horror spectacle. There are some sH๏τs and sequences that are so expertly directed, it’s a shock to find out that this is only Vaniček’s second feature,’ gushed Collider’s Aidan Kelley.

‘Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Burn is an over-the-top, blood-soaked nightmare of a movie. Unfortunately, it doesn’t add much else beyond shock value, so fans wanting a bit more meat on the bone will be left disappointed,’ wrote Lucy Buglᴀss for Tech Radar.

Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ is just the latest horror franchise that’s been brought back for modern audiences.

In October, Peacock will launch the limited series Crystal Lake, based on the Friday the 13th franchise.

There’s also a new Carrie miniseries on the way at Amazon Prime Video as well as a Texas Chainsaw Mᴀssacre series from Obsession director Curry Barker.

Meanwhile, Paramount is working on a new Nightmare on Elm Street reboot.

It will mark the first Freddy Krueger film since the 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, which was a hit at the box office but received scathing reviews from critics.

Other upcoming horror remakes, reboots and sequels in the works include Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil, The Blair Witch Project, and A Quiet Place Part III.
